829. Second rice ear
A paddy field at the entrance to the usual bicycle path.
Second rice ears grown after harvesting. Looks nice.
This could be a way to harvest rice twice a year by taking the advantage of the global warming.
While, the usual way is to plow them into the soil as the photo below.
Thus the likes to crop the second rice ears might be a layman's silly idea. But it seems not necessarily so. That possibility is being studied and developed with the name of "ratoon cropping".

Today's paper.
Reporting Honda new Cub series.
Due to emission gas problems, bike makers all stop producing 50 cc engine bikes and change to over 100 cc engine.

I have a Cub too.
It is an airplane model, though.
Left yellow item is the radio-controlled model palne of U.S. Piper's J-3 Cub.

This Cub is a pre-World War II light plane, tandem two seater, tube-and-fabric construction. More than 20,000 units were produced, the then best seller machines.
Honda Cub is often used for mail delivery services. Piper Cub too carried military mails.
The same "go- maru" (five-zero) engine as that for this radio-controlled model.
It may not look like so, but it is a 4-cycle engine. Unlike 2-cycle engine with characteristic sound of "be---", this one gives a certain level of heavy notes.
The "go- maru" refers to the engine displacement, not cubic centimeter cc, but cubic inch. 0.50 cubic inch. 2.54^3 x 0.50 = 8.2 cc.
The fuel is a mixture of main component methanol (alcohol), nitro-methane, oil, additives.

Today falls on Aug. 15th of luni-solar calendar.
This year, at this time, susuki's ears are just in full bloom. Thus, I could get them (for the offering to the moon) at a nearby vacant lot.
The sake bottles used as flower vases might be annoying the Selene.
826. An ao-sagi
At the river mouth of Moroto river which flows into the Inba marsh.
Looks a young bird which hatched this spring.
The river starts at around Tiba New Town Station and its total length is only 8 km.

Today's look of Sin-river. At around the route-16 highway.
A quiet period continues for a while untill winter waterfowls come from the north.
